Spring Luncheon was a Huge SuccesslOur Annual Spring Luncheon was a huge sellout and once again..a wonderful event for LIR! The event was held on April 22nd in the sumptuous splendor of Lightfoot Restaurant.
This annual event is held in order to raise awareness about the tremendous challenges that women—particularly single women face in order to feed their children.
Max Fineberg, the Director of the Alliance to End Hunger was the guest speaker. His organization engages in diverse institutions in building the public will to end hunger, both in the United States and worldwide.
Prior to becoming the Alliance’s first director, he served Ambassador and former Congressman Tony Hall (D-OH) for 12 years in a variety of capacities. Most recently, Max was Special Assistant to the Ambassador at the U.S. Mission to the UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome, Italy.
Following a very interesting speech about the ways our country is helping fight the fight against hunger...and incredible array of raffle prizes were given out!
Many thanks to all who made our Spring Luncheon such a special and memorable occasion.
