How We Can Help

Do You Need Help?

Everyone needs a helping hand from time to time. If you find your resources stretched thin, please come to Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Inc. and we will provide you with food.

You need to provide proof of Loudoun County residency to become a client at LIR. A picture ID is required, and if you are new to the county, a bill with your address on it. You will need to complete an application. We will not ask about your income or any other questions. LIR does not share any information regarding our clients with anyone.

How We Can Help

LIR is a food pantry that provides emergency food supplies. At your visit, we supply enough food to prepare three nutritionally-balanced meals for three days for any size family. Every time you come to LIR, you will complete a Wish List that will tell us about any dietary needs, the size of your family, and any nonfood items you might want. We fulfill as many extras as we can.

We can help you determine if you qualify to receive USDA assistance. If you qualify, we will prepare your order to include USDA food. You can receive USDA food assistance once a month.

Important information:
•    You are allowed to come two times a month.
•    Spanish speaking staff is available to assist you.
•    Food is packed for you – clients do not ‘shop’ off the shelves.
•    Bakery items are always available and can be picked up in our lobby during regular distribution hours.

Do You Need More Help?

If your situation is more extreme, please let a staff member know, and you could qualify for more assistance. You will work closely with our Client Relations Manager, who will help you with your unique situation.

If you or someone you know is terminally ill, mentally ill, or a low-income senior citizen, LIR’s Long Term Care provides a three day supply of food for life. Please contact LIR for more information on this program.

Food for Thought

Our Food for Thought program offers information about safe food handling, recipe ideas that are designed to stretch meal planning, cooking tips designed to improve  some health conditions (i.e. diabetes), and information about human service agencies throughout Loudoun County. The information is displayed our waiting area monitor.
